Beyond particular client matters, we strive to be leaders in our profession and pioneers in our field. This commitment is evident in our important work in establishing the Institute for Law and Economic Policy (ILEP), the only public policy organization of its kind. As a founding member, we were able to shape the development of the ILEP to ensure that it promotes a balanced view of today’s litigation issues. We are proud that since 1996, ILEP has co-sponsored at least one major symposium a year with a leading law school dealing with issues related to the civil justice system.

We don’t settle for the obvious. Our lawyers successfully litigated a massive antitrust action against brand name drug manufacturers whose misconduct caused pharmacy customers to overpay for their prescription drugs. In approving the $65 million settlement in that case, the Honorable Carl Bradford, Judge of the Maine Superior Court stated, “I’ll join my learned colleagues from this and other jurisdiction[s] in commending counsel in arriving at something that represents a great deal of hard work and a great deal of ingenuity in putting together a settlement of this magnitude and complexity…”

We are attuned to the regulatory and legal developments that impact our clients. In fact, we had the privilege of representing the first major institutional investor to become a Lead Plaintiff in a Class Action following the enactment of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 (PSLRA), one of the most significant pieces of legislation ever to confront the securities bar. We have also achieved record results in successfully trying a securities Class Action to a jury verdict.
