David V. Sack concentrates his practice on prosecuting complex securities fraud cases on behalf of institutional investors.
Prior to joining Labaton Sucharow, Mr. Sack served as a litigation associate at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he represented a healthcare company and individual defendants in a securities fraud litigation arising out of alleged stock-options backdating. Mr. Sack’s practice also included antitrust litigation and a high-profile merger case involving the airline industry in connection with a Department of Justice Second Request.
Mr. Sack maintains a strong commitment to pro bono work. Among his work, he has assisted Hurricane Katrina victims in their efforts to obtain benefits from FEMA, represented a prisoner in his 1983 civil rights action, and most recently, he assisted in an immigration appeal that resulted in a successful grant of asylum for a Nepali refugee.
During his time at University of Michigan Law School, Mr. Sack was a Cambodian Law Fellow for the Human Rights in Cambodia Project in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and a law extern at the Legal Resources Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
